the strict father



In Singapore, security cameras are omnipresent, no-smoking signs are everywhere, and hefty penalties are levied if one does not obey these signs.

Gosh, 'no wheelchairs' seems a bit harsh.

Singapore does seem to have an irrational fear of individual initiative - which makes its economic success all the more remarkable.
